Default bike chirps while accelerating

I did a search on bikes chirping and the only thing I come up with are guys who have their bikes chirp on decel and/or at idol. My bike only chirps when accelerating…it’s damn annoying. I hear it in 1st-4th gears, but because of wind noise it’s too loud to hear it at 5th and 6th gear. Anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

There had been some previous threads about dry rubber mounts on your slip ons. Get a bit of lube in there and see if it goes away-easy fix if so, if not, on to the next thing!

couple things to check... 1'st is gas, if not using 91 or better, go top off with higher octane.

second... is it a chirp, or a tink sound. if the tink sound, it is probably the automatic chain tensioner. I had plenty of that around the 15-20K mile timeframe on my bike. it will wear through that and you'll be good again.

only other thing I can say is Cali gas... I'm an east coaster so someone with experience on the left coast would have to chime in.

"Just because you are offended, doesn't make you right." lovin that line...

I've read about the silicon spray on the rubber mount trick...what I noticed though is that those guys all had the problem at idol as well...mine is only on accel.

Also, I've only put 91 octane in, so I can rule out the gas idea.

have you done any exhaust work lately? could it be an exhaust leak at the header? I've heard exhaust gaskets chirp if they're not torqued down right.

Mine is starting to chirp coming from the left side of the fairing. Everything is tight inside and out. Haven't been able to track it down yet, but I bet I'll spot it when something falls off, more than likely anyway.

Add a whistle and a snap and I could probably sell the sound to a country western label and ditch the radio.

I've only put on a slip-on. Haven't touched the engine, accept for routine maintenance.

Muffler brackets is where I would check. Might need a little lube there. Also what kind of road do you hear it on? Concrete roads, you will hear a chirp

Mine is doing same thing. Can really hear it when close to a car or concrete median on left side. I was thinking belt but gonna keep an eye on this thread.

Mine was doing that and I found the exhaust pipes where they bolted into the engine were loose. I tightened them up and it helped reduce a lot of the sound. Mine was making the same kind of chirping noise on hard acceleration at lower rpms, like when lugging it a little bit...
