Default How much air in rear shocks?

I was messing around with my 06 RK and just for the heck of it checked the pressure in the rear shocks. It was about 5 lbs. I'm 5'11" weigh in at a whopping 155 lbs, ride solo mostly. What kind of pressure are you guys running? And,, do you have to use any kind of special air pump to adjust??
Thanks

First off do not use any kind of air compressor. That would be bad. Get one of the HD zero loss pumps made specifically for the shocks. It gives you your pressure reading and lets you adjust w/o losing any pressure. I have heard that there are cheaper versions available at bicycle shops. Here is the HD pump. Suspension Air Pump

As far as pressure you are just going to have to tweak it for what is comfortable to you. I have yet to find that "happy medium". I have tried what the manual calls for, above and below and am still not happy with the ride quality. I think my next step is throwing on a set of Progressive 440's.

HD sells a nice pump with a gauge on it. Progressive also has a nice one.

I use between 8 & 15lbs, but I weigh more than you and ride 2up most of the time....

i run 18 solo, and 23 2 up on long rides.
im 3 bills and my girl is 5 ' 8 and about 145, so the bumps can be a bit "noticable" if i dont run the higher pressure with the 2 of us on it.
im waitin for the 08's and then i will have an ultra glide in the stable. thinkin about gettin a side car on it so we can take the chitlins along

I'm a buck-ninety and run anywhere from 8-15 lbs solo. depeding on what kind of ride I'm going to do. I check the pressure often. I've run up to 25lbs. on a road trip fully packed.

At 155 lbs, you should have 0 psi in the shocks. According to my 2000 OM, the rear shock and front fork pressures should be 0 psi for a rider weight of up to 150 lbs, and the pressure should be increased in 1 psi increments front and rear (the FLHTPI, FLHP, and FLHPI have air suspension front and rear; mine is a 2000 FLHTPI) for each additional 25 lbs of additional rider weight and in 1 psi increments front and rear for each additional 10 lbs of luggage weight, for a maximum of 25 psi front and 35 psi rear.

I keep 25PSI in the rear at all times! Solo, two up, loaded, or unloaded. Just keep some air in them and go ride. All of this up & down is BS! How many adjustments did you do to your non-air shocks?
