Default Factory Alarm question

A quick question, I just bought a 2006 Street Glide, with a factory alarm equipped. The guy i got it from rarely used the alarm and wasn't sure how to use it. Of course he didn't have the owners manual. so does anyone know is it one click to arm it and 2 clicks to disarm? and do you have to have it in the locked position?

One long click to arm; two quick to dis-arm. Initially, hold the fob close to the left grip (I seem to recall it uses one of the wires on the left handle-bar as an antenna). Mine arms no matter what state the ignition is in. If you add the Smart Siren II, you'll have sound, also the ability to use a wireless FM pager. Siren II and pager are less than $200 combined. Two pagers, one rechargeable, one uses replaceable batteries. Up to 1/2 mile range (out in the open). I just added this setup to mine (well, the siren at least). And make sure the battery in the fob has some juice (about 3.1 VDC).

I have an 06 also (EG). 1 click to arm and 2 clicks to disarm, locked or unlocked. The turn signals will flash once when armed and twice when disarmed. Just a suggestion, change out those batteries in your fob. Do it each season. If you arm it, and then your batteries are too weak to disarm, you cannot start your ride. The factory security system actually shuts down most of the electrical system. You hit the start button and all you get is flashing turn signals.
