Default spark plug index washers

Hello, has anyone used spark plug index washers, or just indexed the plug so that the opening of the plug is turned toward the ports ? thanks for the help

I've done this on performance builds over the years, but I haven't really found much value in doing it for street use...

Even if you can't feel it on the butt dyno, indexing will make a slight power improvement. You will at least gain the benefit of the incomming air/fuel charge constantly washing the plug gap area, keeping them cleaner longer, providing your engine a stronger more consistient spark over the life of the plugs. I place plug indexing in the category of sound routine maintenance practices, I don't always have to gain 10 HP to justify doing something beneficial. It's a pretty cheap mod that only takes a couple minutes, the effort is worth it to me.

putting your piston ring spacing 120 degrees apart will give you max compression....of course....the ring gaps move after a few hours of use...so don't expect the result to last long.

I think we have an apples and oranges situation here, while ring gaps may move, spark plug gaps do not.
