Default How to bleed ABS Brakes?

I'm gonna be putting new apes and brake lines on my 09 street glide and was wondering how you guys bled the brakes. The bike has ABS Also. Also any other tips y'all have for the install would be great.

Will I need wire extensions? I've heard some say yes and some say no just reroute the wires. I did get the FBW extensions.

Thanks in advance.

The dealer has to plug it into the digital tech to test the system or the ABS may malfunction. Even companies like LA Choppers who make ABS cable kits have a disclaimer in their instruction about it. If you do all the work and then just have the dealer plug it in and check it, prolly only run ya $50.

From the limited amount of knowledge I have about bleeding ABS brakes, the digital technician is required to eliminate any air bubbles from the system. If you were just bleeding the brakes to replace fluid, digital technician may not be required as long as you didnt introduce any air into the system.

Will it be okay to ride from my house to the dealership? If I bleed the brakes like you would on a non abs bike.

Anyone have any more tips on the install or wiring extensions?

Just to bleed the abs is about 30-40min 1 hr labor charge. Has two dealers tell me the same thing. Bleeds and resets the module.

I installed new apes and brake lines on my 2009 RK. Removed old lines installed the new ones and Speed Bleeders. All went well and no ABS light.

Bleed them as best as you can, then take it to a dealer to have them finish it with the Digital Technician.
