Been thinking about an 11 Road Glide and started hearing about alot of bikes having problems with shaking at around 35 to 40 mph on decel. Saw where some have had bearing adjusted, tires changed, rims rebalanced, new rim, ect. and still can't get rid of it on their bike. How common is the problem? Is it a certain serial number range? Many of the bikes didn't develop this until 150 to 400 miles on them. So well after the test ride.
Hearing this made me really cool my heels on a RG

I have an 2011 RGC and when I took it in for my 1k service, they said the steering head was out of spec, so they adjusted it to spec. They asked if the bike had any noticeable vibration or shake prior to bringing it in, and I said no. It steers and rides perfect at all speeds. They said that they are fixing out of spec RG's that are under 10k miles. If you are that worried, I say just test ride the RG that you intend to buy.
I've got over 6k and never had the problem. Had dealer adjust fall away to spec.
A couple of buds had it, and it was only noticeable on decel between 45-35 with both hands off the bars.
I have a RGC & have had no problems. These Touring frames are all the same. Why is there this problem with just the RG???? I'm sure someone will say because of the faring. I don't have that answere. If you like the bike then buy it & don't worry about it.
I don't know this for sure...But I am going to guess that the neck bearings aren't adjusted correctly at the factory...I believe they leave the assembly line adjusted to the same specs. as the other touring bikes which have the bat wing fairing...The correct number of swings for the road glide front end fall away procedure is less than the Electra Glides.
11 FLTRX with no issues , when I did my 1k service they adjusted my head bearring , said it was loose but I hadn't had any vibration and the ride compared to my batwing , I'd never go back
