Default uh oh... am I in trouble???

So I recently went catless and added Jackpot slipons. Love the sound and don't mind the slight loss in power at all. But today I rode from Las Vegas to Phoenix and I noticed that at cruising speeds, there is a pinging coming from whatnsounds like the right muffler (almost like something in it is rattling... IDK what 'pinging' sounds like exactly, but this has me worried). Also where the muffler meets the pipe is starting to blue like it does just off the head. I know its running lean, but should I be alarmed?? I want to try an XIED but I've heard they don't work well on the 2011 bikes. Im tight on cash at the moment, but not completely against getting a tuner. I just have a few other plans for what needs to be done on it before the A/C.

When you say "catless" you fail to mention what head pipe you are using or did you open up and remove the cat from the factory headpipe? If all you did was replace the exhaust, then you did not remove any catalytic converter. They are inside the headpipe.

It sounds to me like you have an exhaust leak where the exhaust connects. You may not have the pipe slipped onto the header enough and need to tighten the clamp around them.

If you only replaced the exhaust then a fuel management system isnt required. Sounds like you may want to rethink your order of mods and change the air cleaner and get a fuel manangement program going on, it will make your bike alot more happy.

I cut the stock pipe open and removed the cat.

Why don't the XiEDs work on the 2011s? I've never heard that before. They are pretty inexpensive and work well, call Steve and ask about them.

I think a Stage 1 and a download may be just what you need.

Sounds like the loss of power, and pinging, would be your engine crying for more fuel. Even though you don't want one, a stage one would take care of that, and give you your power back.

Sounds like your motor is running lean enough to spark knock, The sound you are hearing is your motors final warning before it suffers serious damage! Try premium fuel and add octane boost, it might help.
