Default How long does rear air shock usually last?

I found a pair 12.5' Street glide shocks on local Craigslist, 20,000 miles old for $100, what do you think? How long do they usually last? I heard air shocks last much longer than hydraulic. I was thinking to put them on my Dyna, thanks Alex

The last 3 touring bikes I've had all had over 30K miles on them - '01 RK 38K miles, '04 Electra Glide Classic 33K miles & '07 Electra Glide Classic - when traded except for the '07 which I have now & it has 35K on it. Never had any problems with the air shocks whatsoever. So for that price you can expect at least another 20K miles if they're not damaged.

Mine lasted over 10 years, until I installed a lowering kit which moved the bottom mount. 2 days later, they both started leaking oil. Replaced them with Progressive shocks which are stiffer, but allowed me to get rid of one more potential fail point. As soon as I replace the front shocks, I won't have to carry the pump anymore either!

If they maintain air pressure, you might need to change the oil sometime in the future. Personally, I like the stock 13" air shocks with a little thicker oil.
