I've read all the threads about the cost/value/peace-of-mind/etc of obtaining an ESP on a technology-laden Touring model. The decision really comes down to what has been the failure rate on things like heated grips, radio, cruise control, ECM, etc. not to mention all the mechanical stuff that can crap out after the 2-yr warranty is over. I'd like to hear what sort of failures you guys have had with your bikes after the factory warranty was done and what it cost you to fix.
I'm also thinking the samething, I have called my local dealer and got a price, than called Jim at Kutter and what a price different. Wroth the call to him, if you do.
Upper cam sproket bolt backed out, shaving the metal off the timming cover. Metal ran through the motor. $1400 one way uhaul rental home and $3500 in a new top end rebuild.
The $6000 i have spent on that issue would have payed the $2500 the seven year esp would have cost me.
Your bike is a big investment, pay now or pay later......

Got off the phone with him this morning...that's why I started the thread. I assume he quoted you the same price: $1688 for 7 yrs, includes T&W, right?
