Default Redline Primary Synthetic

Lord help me for starting another oil thread but in the spirit of an open forum I wanted to share.

I've been a big fan of synthetic oils for a long time in my motors and transmissions but not for clutches due to my old school thinking regarding friction and sheer stress requirements of a wet clutch.

I recently took a walk on the wild side and switched to the subject oil in the primary of my '10 Street Glide and have been pleasantly surprized.

The traditional "clunk" has been dramatically softened. The low end clatter from the dreaded stock compensator is all but gone and neutral is just another gear that is easy to find.

would love to make a switch to something better

Hoblick:

I've been running "Redline V-Twin Transmission Oil with Shock Proof" in the transmission. Can't say anything good or bad about it at this point other than it looks cool (pink) and it sticks like crazy to the funnel which tells me it sticks well to the tranny parts as well. I also noticed during a recent change after about 6,000 miles that it looked as good as new which I found interesting compared to other products.

The Primary Oil that I posted about is "Redline V-Twin Primary Case Oil". You can go on their website to research the specific viscosity, but I can tell you from experience that it has made a marked difference in clutch performace for me.

On a seperate note, I too have always been a big Mobil 1 fan but I recently swithed to Castrol V-twin after helping a friend change his oil with Castrol and finding how much quieter his top end sounded. Now mine is quieter and running a few degrees cooler.....who knows??? all part of the great oil debate!

Started using the V-Twin with shock proof three changes ago and I can tell a big difference, I was begining to think my clutch was out of adjustment and now shifts alot smoother.Redline primary oil and Mobil 1 in the crankcase.

I think the only time you can not tell a difference when replacing oil, is if you put the old oil back in. On every vehicle I drive (5 cars and 2 bikes) when ever I replace the oils, I can tell a difference, even if it is the same brand and weight as before. new oil feels different from old oil.

"Redline V-Twin Primary Case Oil" is the same as Redline MTL. I got this information directly from Redline.

Thumbs up

I just switched to Redline in all 3 holes I like it and so does the Limited 20/50 in the motor v-twin primary oil and gear oil with heavy shockproof in the tranny.

I've also been running Redline in my Tranny and Primary and have been very pleased with the results.
