Hey guys, I was thinking of getting the HD Seat Pad but wasnt sure I want to pay 90 bux. I knew that Horseback riders used seat pads to cushion there saddles and they say it provides air to circulate also. So I purchased one of these from Statelinetack.com. It is made of some synthetic rubber/foam material and has several layers front and back. It does grip also so you wont slide around.
I provided pictures of what it looks like on my Ultra. I road a a short distance with it this evening and it felt cushy and seemed like it was getting air but time will tell.
The items only 12.99 + tax/shipping. So its not going to kill you if it doesnt work as you though. I like it though..
Oh yeah, it also moved me forward maybe an inch or less so for those who seem like the bars are too forward this may help it seems like it did for me.
whats the bottom look like? ive got a wallmart car seat cushion thats got a rubber waffle like pattern cush, its nice, but its 30.00 and the shape puts the zipper end in close contact to the left side of the tank
Read the reviews...If it doesn't work well on horse saddles, hows it going to work on our bikes....You get what you pay for....ProPad has come out with a cushion like the HD one but it's not on their website yet..I saw it advertised in American Bagger....Maybe cheaper then HD???
i read the reviews, but wanna know what the other side looks like, the pics look like the thing is upside down? the way the straps overlap the edge...and the rubber on top? if its the same on the other side there is no way this thing would slide around...horse or bike saddle.
Both sides are the same material but a second layer of it. Seems like they used 2 layers of this stuff, the pad is about half an inch thick. It doesnt move much at all not unless they are waxing their saddles or if I was to put armorall on the seat, it is very grippy on both sides, even on your pant so you have to stand up on the floorboards to adjust and then sit back down so it doesnt pull your pant up by trying to adjust by sliding around on it.
The pad is made for a horse saddle with a horn so the front strap at the very front as if it was to be put over the horn of a saddle. However to make it work in my case I just tucked it under the front of the seat and make it hook to the metal peace that holds our seats down in the front. I just placed the strap over it right as I push the seat down to try to catch that hook. The rear strap just slides over the seat. You do have to take the seat off to place it though,
