I`ve been wearing a pair of these for almost 20 years (the same pair).

Just bought a new pair, but I think the old pair may still outlast me...

I love my gloves. Wore from 37 dgrees to 96 this year. Behind Batwing. Comfortable lightweight. Haven't ridden in long downpour yet, so don't know if bleeds. Would buy rubber overgloves if such a thing is made and would fit right.

Reaper Glove are made of supple leather and accented with features that provide unrivaled comfort. Extra attention has been given to the small details, such as gel padding on the palm area to reduce road vibration. This model also offers an insulated backhand and rubber knuckle to shield you on those slightly chillier days. Z1R

I've been using icon Pursuit gloves for the past 3+ years: perforated leather with knuckle protection:

I have 4 pairs of Olympia gloves that range from full gauntlet winter to vented with gel palms. All leather and never bled on me. The perforated leather gel gloves are very comfortable even down south. I know what you mean about cheap gloves though. After a ride in a heavy downpor a few years ago wearing cheap shells, my hand were black. Took a while to wear/wash it off.

I always wear gloves when I'm on the bike. I don't know if HD still has them, but I bought a pair of perforated leather gloves from HD. They are very comfortable everyday gloves when the temperatures are above 60 or so. The holes are barely noticeable but provide good ventilation. I have a pair of those Subway Sandwich sanitary gloves stashed in the tour pak and put them on under the leather gloves if I get caught in a the rain without rain gloves.

HD also makes a good textile gaunlet rain glove with a gortex liner that is good for rain days.

I'm not a slave to buying HD goodies but their gloves and rain gear seem to be good stuff.
