Last weekend when I rode from Lake George to Laconia I got pretty wet along the way. When I took my gloves off my hands were blue from the dye in the gloves...obviously I need to change gloves!
Does anyone have any recommendation on a good, comfortable pair of touring gloves? I would prefer full fingered and probably leather will take care of the dye issue, but will gladly listen to other suggestions.
Better quality leather will not bleed. If you have the budget check out Held gloves. They started as a family run business in Germany and make some of the best motorcycle gloves available.
I would look for some reinforcement on the lower palm and outside of the hand (along the outside of the pinky and along the outside of the hand) just in case you need them to protect your hands from the asphalt some day.

I've never bought a pair of "motorcycle" gloves. In the summer, I wear golf gloves. I get them in 3 packs from Costco, but you have to buy both right and left hand gloves. In the winter, I wear ski gloves.
For getting caught in a rainstorm, I use playtex kitchen gloves UNDER my leather gloves. They are cheap and are easy to put in the saddlebags. Just my $.02
Have both there summer and fall gloves, best gloves I've ever owned and they recommend washing them even though they are deerskin. http://www.leeparksdesign.com/
I have a pair of Hatch CTM100 cooltac motorcycle gloves that are very comfortable . I've worn them in the rain and my hands did not turn black. I'll take along a pair if Seal Skinz gloves (sealskinz.com)if it's going pour out.
Alpinestars is what i want to get next...I have had no luck with leather...I had supossedly waterproof leather gloves and in a 8 hour rainy ride they proved to be crap...Don't even remember the brand as they went in the trash.
I just bought a pair of Alpinestars Hero (short) gloves a few weeks ago. So far, after a few hundred miles in 100+ heat, no black hands. These are built way better than a $50 glove needs to be - cureved fingers, seams on the outside, etc. Does not move as much air as a Tourmaster mesh glove, but better protection and zero dye bleed.
