Default Add on Sercurity System for 2011 Ultra

Just pulled the trigger last weekend traded my Softail in on a 2011 Ultra Classic got great deal being the end of the year and it not having Sercurity. My question is has anyone installed a Sercurity system after the purchase; I was spoiled by the one on my Softail. I have priced the stock unit they range from $300 - $395 depending where you look but is it a plug and go or what? Sorry about still having Softail pictures up will post new ones next week, waiting until the Pipes and Turner and a few other items to be installed this Saturday.

I had the dealer do it. It doesn't take much if you know what you're doing but it was a new bike and my first HD, so I had them do it. If you get it done in the first 60 days, it goes with the new bike warranty, but only if they do the install. I'll be installing the Radio Shack siren myself this evening along with a RAM mount for my GPS. Both those are easy installs.

The dealer has to do the Key Fob's, they have to be paired with the security module. The install consists of replacing the turn signal module with the security module. The security system you buy through Harley as an accessory only comes with 1 key Fob. If it came with security from the factory you get 2 key fobs.

Easy job. Takes about 10 mins to swap out the tsm. Then follow the procedure that is posted on this forum for "marrying" the tssm to the bike. Takes about 20 mins. After that you must take the bike to the dealer and get the fobs programmed. Cost me $15 to get mine programed. +1 on the radio shack siren as well.
