Ok, I ordered a set of 12" chrome Monkey Bars for my 2011 Street Glide. I recieved them today and they have set me bars for a Road Glide. They say all they have in stock now are 12" black Monkey Bars. They will give me these for $25 less that what I have already paid. I am not too sure I want black. Anyone have these black bars on a sedona orange bike like mine?
Anyone know who has these 12" chrome bars in stock now?
I would not settle for a $25 price drop. However I do think that sedona and black make a killer combo. But then you will need to do black forks as well
Personally, I dont think the black on the Sedona Orange is what's at question. The question is, what direction do you plan on going with other mods. Black or Chrome? If you plan on chroming everything out, obviously black bars wont really mix well. If you plan on a mixture of both, maybe, especially if you accent it with chrome switch housing etc. My opinion is the bars need to match the legs. But that's my opinion. If you plan on black legs, and/or maybe some black accessories here and there, then black would look good. But if your a chrome ***** like myself, hold out for chrome.
Now all that BS aside, I agree with Stupid Rope. Dont settle. No 1, you wont ever be happy and you will be staring at those bars every second you are on the bike wishing they were chrome, and No 2, fishing those damn wires though those bars is not something I would want to do twice. I did mine and at one point I was literally slamming my head off my kitchen table.
