Does anyone know if the V&H Slash-cut with billet end caps come with the perforated baffle wrapped from the factory? I bought a set used and removed the small, 6" or so baffle, and was surprised to find it had no wrapping. I have heard these before and thought they sounded great. I put them on and they are pretty ratty sounding. Maybe the previous owner removed the wrapping?
I'm pretty sure that they do come wrapped when new.
I had a pair of Classic straight cut slip ons with billet ends caps and when I removed them to look , the packing was in pretty bad shape.
I wrapped them with moose off road packing. http://www.mrcycles.com/catalog_prod...ASS_MUFFLE.htm
Which I think did both of them twice.
I bought new baffles and they had pretty cheap wrapping on them also.
The new wrap did make the mufflers more subtle and toned them down a bit.
Did get rid of the "ratty" sound when I got done.
I should have kept those mufflers for my new bike , as the sound was about perfect and they flowed really well.
