I had service issues today. I have a 2011 Fat Boy Low 96", and had a stage 1, K & N and V and H big radius 2 into 1's, when I first bought the bike. I was looking for the best bang for the buck and more power out of my 95. My dealer said SE 204 cams and a great dyno run will give me a nice, noticeable punch in torque. Was quoted $800 complete and bill came in at $1200+. Worse than that my torque #s went from 96.74 to 98.51.HP went from 79.2 to 84.07. That's it. The bike ran a tad smoother, but these numbers are not what was promised, nor expected...and the bill was not what was quoted. They discounted it down to $1100...so I wasted over a thousand dollars and basically got nothing for it. They are a great dealership but I got had on this service. How do those numbers sound for my set up? Dean

Thats gotta sting. I would have gone with the SE-255 cams for more "kick in the ***" power.

Angry bad service day

I asked about the 254 and 255 , they said the 204s would blow them away on my bike. A 1% torque increase, i could taking off a water bottle... i'll see what they say.i'm not happy

Do you have the dyno sheets for before and after that we could see? Although I do not profess to be an expert by any means I'd have thought a gain of 5 HP at max power from a mild cam isn't so bad - the torque figure is more interesting but what I'd be interested to see is the overall gains made - not just the peak figures. Also did you get a tune or a dyno run? If you didn't get a tune then you might be short some power currently.

IMHO the numbers you stated for the stage 1 only seem high. Most that I've seen are around 75hp/88tq. That would put your numbers with the cams just about where they should be. Does it feel like you've gained anything?
I would be pissed about the cost difference either way.

Rode 265 miles today, it runs a tad smoother, and I picked up a few extra MPG...BUT I didn't care about either . I wanted and was SOLD a roughly 10% increase in torque. What's worse is that there was absolutely NO difference at 3000 RPM and below, which is most of my riding. I simply got screwed...ripped off, lied to, no noticable riding difference, with the numbers to substantiate that as well...and I have a dummy light that stays on and they can't figure out how to get it to stay off...it's annoying during the day and a glaring safety hazard at night. I can't begin to tell you how bothered I am...and I'm keeping my response "clean" as a public site. I wasted a 130 mile drive/ride round trip to my dealer, had nothing done, got charged 50% more than quoted, then my integrity was questioned with a "I never said that", and they can't fix my dummy light that stays on. This dealership is great and I've had an amazingly positive experience and really like their crew...let's see what their gonna do? It's not like thev've never added cams to a 96" engine and had it dynoed. Dean

You should start a new thread and post up your dyno chart (rather than continue the thread hijack). There's just no way to even speculate on your situation without some further information. Were your stage I numbers done as a baseline prior to the cam install, or was your bike up on a dyno somewhere else previously?

They did the Stage 1 Dyno in April, same guy, same dealership. I'll start a new thread. I haven't been on that much the last 2 years, and wasn't sure where to post it. Under 'riders down" I was the guy that got taken out head on by and old lad , and ended up losing my left leg". Only sharing in regard to not knowing where to post this, not looking for a pity party. I'm happy with it. It pulls hard and runs smoother. It's probably my imagination but the pipe seems a little quieter...which is nice. The 2 into 1 is louder than I expected compared to the true duals on my road king. Of course the cams and 103 make it louder anyway.

Thanks for your comments

I'd be happy with those numbers. When you want more, head work will make those cams shine
