Excuse the previous post. I obviously did not read all of the post before my reply. If the dealer is putting a 103" kit in for free, then I am all wrong about them. I believe I would ask for clarification tho'. They may just be giving you the parts but are going to charge labor. Good luck and if you still aren't satisfied with the results, you may be able to get it tuned elsewhere and realize results more inline with the costs.
Well....when you added your 255's, did you already have a Stage 1 done? I can't remember my dyno numbers, I tried unsuccessfully to upload it. I think the torque went from 81 to 82 , and I was led to believe it would have been in the 87-90 range. The bottom line was no noticable anything when riding, except no decel popping and a bit smoother ride.Their dyna guy, people who know bikes, swear by...and I think he is supposed to be very good. Why did I go back? I wasn't as I had already made an appt with a local guy for my 5 k, and I wasn't doing more engine work, at this point.
Before I leave a company I feel the owner needs to know what s going on. And so I emailed him..he stood behind his people and said to work with them. So that answered my question and I was still not going back. Then I got an email from the GM saying this free mod is what they want to do to make up for what happened over the summer. I asked a few friends who know bikes , and they said to jump on it. What they are doing is Install 103 Big Bore Kit, 3.873 cylinder kit, black $299, gasket kit top end 1450/1 $85.95, Piston and ring kit $141.90, 8 hours in house labor @$85 ,$672. Dyno Tune $300. Retail price with tax and shop supplies $1542.07. No Charge to me. So, I am doing it, and we'll see how it goes.
I'm a believer in a good dyno tune. That hasn't always been the case. This past Saturday my belief in them was reinforced. I was riding my 06 Ultra (sig bike) and a guy with us had an 09SG 96ci with tuner(didnt know what kind) 211 cams and a 2into1 header, and SE air cleaner. It ran good, sounded good, but performed terrible. He didn't believe i was only 88ci and no head work. It was like running against a honda rebel! I believe it was the SERT and good tune that gave me the edge. It should have been A LOT closer and maybe even put me in the looser bracket!

Reason: spelling
Why so wavy on the curves? Have a buddy that had his bike dynoed at a free event this past weekend and his looks the same. Dealer said something didn't look right but told him to have his installer check the program. Every dyno sheet I have had done (1998 wide glide, 2001 Road King, 2008 Nightster) The curves have been a lot smoother. Looks like it's making power and dropping a little and making power again? Let me know what you find out.
It looks like his ignition curve has not been setup for the build. The computer is pulling timing , killing the power for that part of the table.
i've seen several dyno sheets with using the 255 cams and they all tend to drop at about the same angle as your dyno run did. you still have 100 ft lbs of torque at 4k rpm's and that's enough if it makes you happy. that's what should really matter, is if the build makes you happy. there are a lot of variables with builds and especially with tuning. there are many real tuning wizards out there, but beware of the 27 year old self proclaimed guru who wears boots that are older than his tattoos.
