Default Brake light stays on

Hello all. I just joined the forum and this is my first post. I am hoping that someone can help me out. I have an '09 EGC and the brake light stays on. The lever and the pedal both retract fully. What do you think that I should look for? Thanks!

Either your front or rear brake light switch is bad.

Thanks, I'll check them. Anything else I should look for? I did get caught in a pretty good rain storm for about an hour.

I believe there have been reports of rear brake switch failures because of it's proximity to the exhaust. And it will be the easiest to check! If the 09s rear switch is in the same location as my 08
Look along the right side lower frame rail just in front of the swing arm pivot, it is a pressure switch with a 2 wire plug unplug that and see if your brake light goes out.

yep here is one report of a bad switch related to heat.

Yup happened on my '09 FLHX. Was riding with cruise control on and turned off. Front brake switch bad and dealer would not cover under warranty because I have "aftermarket" grips.
