New here in the "Touring" section. Been riding a Harley for several years, 2006 Heritage Classic. I recently was gifted a 2006 Electra Glide Ultra Classic from my brother who sadly passed away last month. He and I bought our bikes together and rode together. At any rate, its a twin cam 88 with a new HD 103 build with Vance and Hines pipes. I did the second service yesterday, bike has 4600 miles on it. Also, its running the HD race tuner kit....which is new to me since I use a PCIII on the Heritage. My first impressions are that I love the Touring bike and its VERY strong with the 103 build. I do wish I had an oil temp gauge though, on the Heritage I have the dipstick type which I like. Any suggestions on that? Do they make one for this model? I may have questions from time to time from you guys that have been around the Touring bikes for a while...just reading and learning as I go here. and.yep, I bought the srevice manual...lol.
Sorry to hear about your loss. HD makes a dip stick oil temp gauge for touring as well as a oil temp gauge that replaces the useless air temp gauge. Welcome to the touring side!
Sorry to hear about your brother, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. That's awesome that you got to keep his bike, I bet he's smilin' knowing his ride went to his bro!!
Sorry about your loss. You will always have someone looking out for ya while riding.
Welcome to the Touring Section. I switch between this Touring and the Softail Forum as I just got my wife a Deluxe after she out grew the Sporty.
My suggestion is to replace the fairing mounted worthless air temp gauge with an oil temp gauge. Alternative would be to replace the oil dip stick with a lit LED oil temp indicating stick. I had one on my RK and it worked great. I have heard both good and bad regarding these temp sticks.
Welcome, enjoy and there are all sorts of bike Guru's here in the Touring section.
