I was shopping for a bike after 9 years without and loved the Heritage, but was more partial to the RK. Both seemed out of my range so I started looking at Sportsters and moved up to Superglides. Just for grins I searched on RKs again and this one had just been posted at my price point. I pick'r up Tuesday!
Never had floor boards or heel toe shifter in prior 6 bikes, and the bars will be different. Probably better to force me to start really slow after being off so long. Any issues with the 05 I should look for?

Congratulations on the new to you bike. It'll all come back to you pretty quickly. Just pay a LOT of attention when on the road. Traffic increases in the last 9 yrs along with a LOT of clueless, cell phone addicted drivers makes it mandatory for you to keep your head on a swivel.
Some go at low miles some last in the 80k's but when they go its a mess! Do a search and read up on it. I have on 05 Ultra and mine didn't look too bad at 30k but at 42k they got replaced with the newer version.
Other than that and a small leak in the shift shaft seal it's been a great ride!
No clue about the tension shoes. It has 13,000 miles if that matters.
Really it can be no big deal and it's fairly easy to check, just the cost of a new gasket. At 13k miles I'd think your good for quite a while. I believe they suggest checking at 30k so relax and enjoy the new ride. If you ever pop up my way give me a shout, some beautiful riding around these parts!
