Used my trailer in a bag trailer again.
Found a nice hotel in Charlotte, NC near airport that for a few dollars more than usual overnight charge permitted the car to stay in their lot for a week.
It was more convenient than parking at airport.
Left the car and trailer (trailer placed in trunk) in the one parking space.
Then departed on the bike after the overnight.
Got to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway, Ride the Diamond Back, Stayed in the Switzerland Inn, Some hiking, Some more BRP, A ride to top of Mt Mitchell state park, Lunch at the Pisgah Inn.
Some more BRP and overlooks, See the Mill before Gatlinburg,TN.
Stayed in Gatlinburg,TN to catch a show and see the car museum, See Pigeon Forge, Ride Cades Cove & got off bike to see the stuff in Cades Cove.
Ride the Foothills Parkway, Ride the Dragon/Deals Gap area (Killboy base area across road from resort is greatly improved).
Stayed in Fontana village, Ride Moonshiner 28, See and ride across Fontana Dam, See Nantahala outdoor center, See some waterfalls.
Then had lunch in Highlands,NC and then headed towards Hendersonville.
Visited the grave of the The world's heaviest twins, Billy & Benny McCrary, aka The McGuire Twins (the big fellows of minibike fame) and overnighted in Hendersonville, NC on the way to Kings Mountain, SC..
Hendersonville, NC was having their Apple Festival so that was an unexpected plus...frozen apple cider, fried apple pie, apple muffins, apple ice cream and other apple items.
Then after an overnight, road across someplace called Strawberry hill, SC on the way to Kings Mountain, SC and there was a huge peach and strawberry stand with a similar situation but peach based so repeated the process.
Stopped in Kings Mountain Park, SC for the free historical movie and the historical 1.5 mile hike before taking the back roads to Charlotte, NC for load-up of bike and hotel overnight.
It was a nice trip.
I post this just in case there are folks that are not aware that a trailer is a possibility and might add to their enjoyment.
Similar could be done by placing a trailer hitch on just about any car and renting a UHaul or using some other trailer.
The downside is trailer parking but some camp ground parking or a you store it location might be a solution.
If traveling two-up consider throw away T-shirts, socks and underwear to increase luggage capacity for any purchased items.
Also bring at least one or two T-shirts less since you will most likely purchase at least one.
