Another Cruise Control Troubleshoot?
And yes, I did a search and read some threads first.
Bought my 03 SERK with 3700 miles on it . . . cruise control has never worked . . . time to get it working.
When I engage the left control on, the light comes on. When I to then set the cruise on the right control, no light comes on and it does not engage.
My brake lights all work as designed . . . not of them stuck or out.
When I changed out the handlebars last week, I looked closely at the wires in the right side cruise control . . . all looked good . . . did not see any crud build up etc.
I adjusted the throttle and idle cables correctly . . . they seem just right . . . not too loose or too tight.
I took off the left side plate and everything looks connected . . .
So, is there a reset procedure for the 03 cruise control version?
Other things to look for in troubleshooting?
I want to try to fix it myself before I take it to the dealer . . . getting ready for some long rides and would like to have the stock cruise working so I can take my right hand of the bar occasionally.
Ideas?

Try this
Not sure if it applies to your year, unit

Read the thread . . . checked for cable tightness . . . did the lash procedure . . . the lash procedure worked (all the lights lit up and the engine reved higher during procedure), but crusie control still did not work.
Unhooked the rollover switch . . . cruise control works great now, except for not turning off with throttle rollover which I prefer for safety . . . turns off great with breaking . . . I just don't really like tapping the brakes at speed . . . but, thanks to you guys it is working for the first time in two years! Yeah!
So, is my problem the rollover switch? And if so, how hard to replace? Is the part number for the rollover switch in my parts or service manual?
Is there a way to troubleshoot and fix the rollover switch, or is it just a replacement item?
Thanks, all.
