I leave them on year round. You can get a quick release setup for them too, but it's your money and would be alot easier for someone to swipe them from you.

No problem on the freeway but the backs of my legs were burning at lower speeds. I tried taking the sliding vent pieces out but it wasn't much better. I took them off and will put them back on in September.

Mine stay on year round. No problems in the 100 degree plus southern Texas Summer heat. And man is it hot this summer!

I moved to Goodyear Az just outside of Phoenix this past year from Reno and had always left mine on year round BUT have been riding PGR missions here in the Arizona heat. About 3 weeks ago we did a mission for a vet and he was also a Fireman. I was flying 3 big flags so they put me right behind the last fire truck which was robbing all of the air. Temp was 113 and we did about 20 miles to the National Cemetery doing 20-25 mph. When I got home I had a big blister on both of my inner calves and hadn't touched anything on the bike to get them, I took the lowers off the next morning and can't believe the difference in the airflow on my legs. I am doing a stage 1 on the bike from Fuel Moto the beginning of next week and hope that will help some more. I was actually worried about the engine of my bike, it was WAY hot, So I am a believer of off in the summer and on in the winter at least here in the Desert Southwest.

Using freedom wings or similar on the fairing will help to funnel air directly to the rider.

Leave mine on all year. I like the protection they offer from debris and rain. Get some highway pegs and throw your feet out on them.
