Default Lowers question

I just installed a set of lower fairings on my street glide which I purchased from a member here. Does any one have heat issues running lowers in hot weather? The lowers are the vented type. By the way they do look good on my white gold pearl street glide, especially since I just got my new chopped tour pack the other day.( A little bragging) Thanks HDSG

I leave mine on all year, I don't have any heat issues.

EDIT: I should add I did have heat issues when the bike was stock but not anymore.

Mine are on all year. Sometimes we ride in 100 deg.+ temps, no problem. They actually direct more air to the engine.

Same here. The lowers help funnel air to the engine, or that's what they say.

I would say a lot depends on where you live. In southern Indiana I take the lowers off in the summer. I feel more air and so does my wife.

Its not a heat issue for the bike, It is a issue for the rider. For me personally I have left them on for the past four years in 100+ and do not have any issues.

The rider will experience more heat for 2 reasons. The air that normally cools the legs is now funneled into the center by the lowers to help cool the engine better and blow more heat onto the rider.
