We have had nothing but issues with them at the shop. Called H-D tech service and got told that 2 out of every three sets are bad out of the box so when a customer wants a set to order three and possibly one will actually work.

In reality these grips will take the chill off the palms of your hands and somewhat warm up your fingers on the inner half...but if it is really friggin cold outside they wont do much...
If you are wanting to keep your full hand and fingers warm you should invest in some electric heated gloves. They will do a much better job at colder temperatures...not much differance in price between the gloves and grips.

If I'm reading this right, you are using the heated grips without gloves, is that right? If so of course the backside of your hands get cold, do you really expect them not to? You have to wear gloves. The gloves hold the heat in around your hands. Any decent pair of gloves will do. I don't have heated grips on my bike, but I use them on snowmobiles at well below zero and sometimes over 100 mph, from before sun up until way past sun down and never get cold hands. Warm and toasty all day long. But of course I use gloves with the heaters.

One difference between heated grips and electric gloves is I will never forget to pack my grips. My H-D grips are on my 2011 limited so they have seen little use, but this past winter on a ride across Florida we found the coast was much cooler than inland. The heated grips kept us riding that day. I had no idea it was going to be that cold on the coast so I wouldn't have pack gloves for that trip.

be sure when ya hook'em up you use dielectric grease on them, seems the ones that went went the hard wire are having good luck. i have the heated gloves myself and don't really need them half the time but when i do i got them, hope they don't give ya a problem

Default Why would you ask this question......

After purchasing the grips?

A lot of riders use the core style heaters; mostly used on wintertime toys, which heats up the entire handle bar from the inside out. The trouble with the core heaters is low is too low and high will roast your hands - no middle setting.

When; not if, my heated grips fail I'm taking the advice of most others and go with the heated gloves.

Maybe next time ask for advice/opinions prior to purchasing.....Just a thought

Ride In Peace
