Default Anyone using Dynamat?

I just installed Sony Bluetooth Radio, Hertz High Energy 6.5"s in the fairing, Cycle Sounds Bagger lids with Polk 6x9's powered by a J&M Rokker 500Wx4 amp. IMO it sounds fantastic. At 80mph I can hear it perfectly (it drowns out the wind noise, my exhaust & my friends bikes). Of course that depends on the music source too.

Like everyone else I'm trying to tighten up the bass on my SG. Im thinking about installing Dynamat in the saddlebags & maybe the fairing (not sure about adding more weight to it).

I'm curious if anyone using it can recommend it.

I have been thinking about using it as well. I think J&M make some sort of mat to go in the batwing. However it like twice the price of a roll of dynamat. It is already cut to fit though

Dont use it if you have a warranty and have fairing issues.
The ESP denied a claim on my old Road Glide.

I think J&M's is a little too thick. I had to do a lot of wire re-routing to get the fairing to fit properly & it was still a little tight. I probably would've had a really difficult time getting the fairing to mount with their mat. I read about a few guys having a tough time getting the fairing to mount when they applied it.

Dynamat is thinner but it's heavy. I wonder if the pimp saddlebag liners would accomplish the same thing...probably looks a lot nicer.

Hopefully someone here has some experience with it

I posted a thread last winter where I used a $10 desnse neoprene foam kithcen mat to line my fairing. It works fantastic and I haven't had any problem with it falling off or coming unglued. I also posted the templates for the pieces to do a nice neat job. I remember a comment from a sound engineer who said the material I used was perfectly suited for the job. I don't know about all that but it did improve the bass and midrange sound.

I installed Dynamat and it was not like, wow what a difference, but I sure it helps some. Had I known how heavy it was before I bought it I would of looked for lighter weight alternatives even if they were not as effective.

Small chunks of leftover dynamat in the old fairing. helped a bit... might try lightweight neoprene on the new fairing

My impression was about the same, and did notice some difference. The DynaXorb 6"x6" panels are fairly heavy with the same rubbery consistency as a worm lure. They're installed and I'll keep them, but might consider something lighter if I had to do it again. More weight added to the fairing and supported by the brackets isn't a good thing, and here I am about to add heavier speakers.

I have Dynamat covering the entire outer fairing other than a small section in the middle for sat radio. It made a difference, I recently had an issue with my arc audio 125.2 amp. Arc replaced it with the new 125.2 BX. It has a bass adjustment, the BX made a big difference. I run a Kenwood KIV 700 head unit, hertz 6x9's, the arc amp, and the arc in line driver.
