exhaust question
I have recently installed a Rinehart 4" exhaust on my 2011 Street Glide. After installing the exhaust, and while cruising at about 2500 rpm, it has been getting small power surges. I called Harley and of course they told me to bring it in and after paying a large sum of money they would have it running great. My question is, can I still ride my bike before installing a Power Commander or having it re-mapped? Are these power surges a sign of a bigger issue?

you can change your mufflers all day long and no u wont need to dyno. its when you go to a free flowing air cleaner then u need to adjust air to fuel ratio. with out doing that you will run very lean. the surge your talking about could it be your throttle cuz it happens to me when iam cruzing at lower speeds and with the throttle by wire it is very touchy on rough roads and your wrist or hand will move ever so slightly to make it seem as though it is surging but in reality its u.

My 2010 had a lean surge just like yours, long before I made any mods at all. They are real lean from the factory. I intalled a complete new exhaust system, free breathing air cleaner and a PCV with a Fuel Moto map. No more lean surge. Runs like it should now.
