So I was talking with some of my buddys that I ran the SaddleSore 1000 with 2.5 weeks ago, and here we are planning the next one. although this time, we are not going to start and finish in the same location. We are considering heading from Columbus, Ohio to New Orleans, LA. (1040 miles) Spending a day relaxing in New Orleans and seeing the French Quarter, etc.... then leasurly riding home a different route over the next three days, hopefully camping. Thinking of stopping in Memphis, and Saint Louis.
One think I know for sure is if we are giong to do this, I have some shopping to do...
Zumo GPS
Tour Pak with removable hardware
Taller Windshield.
We either have a severe case of wonderlust, or are crazy.
I've also been contemplating another one. Although I'm leaning toward a Bun Burner this time.
I'm going to be in Colorado next month and there is a 1000 in 24 endurance event going on. Starts and ends at Fay Myers Motorcycle World in Greenwood Village. Looks to be an awesome route. http://www.cofreewheelers.org/1000-in-24.html
I did a Saddle Sore 1000 on June 27 and submitted my paperwork on the 29th. Haven't heard anything yet. IBA website says it could take months.

tried to send you an email or pm - anyway, drop me an email when you get your cert and I will do the same... interested in how long yours takes.. I sent my paperwork in three days after yours.
Just got my email saying all paperwork for the IBA has been approved and certs will be in the mail. I also got my password to go and spend $$ at their store....
Only bikers would do a run like this, spend money to get certified then spend more money to buy patches,t-shirts and hats, LOL.. and I am right in line..
anyway,, sent the packet in on July 1, got my email today,, right at three weeks..
If you go to St Louis, you must eat BBQ at Pappy's Smokehouse. Get there early, lines move fast but exceed 100 all day long and they close when the food is sold out. We did one of our SS last year from Michigan to St Louis just to eat there. Best BBQ I've ever had, and I've had plenty.
