DI75 â hey hook a brother up, I graduated, I mean retired in 03 from Uncle Sams Misguided Children Gun club, send me all your old stuff so I can figure out how to put it all in my 98 EVO??? You where a DI in 75, that means you are how old?? Ha, ha, ok, Iâll show some respect for my elders now. I was lucky enough to DI at PI in 94 at the grand old age of 35. Talk about taking a beatingâŚHard to keep up with the 25 year old hats let alone the 17 and 18 year old kids, but you know what, I was still in better shape than most of them. Just wasnât as fast any more... The build sounds fantastic, some days I wish I had the cash and a newer bike (twin cam) to play with. But I like my older EVO. Semper Fi and Happy 231st Birthday Marine!!
I went with the HD upgrades including the CNC ported heads for my 95" EFI. I was very disappointed with my numbers (100/100),althought compared to stock it rips. If I had it to do over again I would have sent my stuff out to Wes at Cycle Rama in Florida. He is getting some awesome numbers and he was great to talk to on the phone. To get big numbers you need to have the right heads and I think the HD heads are crap. According to some of his dyno charts you can get some big numbers and probably for comparable money to the HD stuff.
I upgraded to Harley 1.4 kW high torque starter. Mulched in a couple months. I think the timing was off which contributed. Race tuner fixed that. Also, upgraded to 1.7 kW aftermarket starter. Perfect!. No troubles since. Nothing is worse than having to pray if it will start today. Thank god that's behind me. Nothing looks worse than gettinga few buddies to give me a push to jump start it!
