Default Clearview for Roadglide came today, going back!

I heard alot of good things about clearview windshields, So after waiting a month to get it, its not a good fit, 1/4 inch gap between rubber gasket but only on left side and and the biggest let down was I was told it would be shorter than my stock one which was the idea, but its exactly the same, and it would hit the bars if turned all the way, but I do have wide glide bars. So back it goes, so to anyone ordering one the 1inch under is not.
Any body using a C Baileys or other except the one from ebay?

I bought one (generic) off of eBay for around $30.00 for my '06 SG. It's 3 inches higher than the stock shield and looks and functions better. Well worth the price. I am think of getting a second one, this time clear and higher for long distance riding.....Good luck

I should get my 8" Clearview tomorrow with the recurve. I have several 9 and 10" Fast Aires, two Cee Baileys SSC's, 9 and 13". I don't particularly care for the 9" Cee Bailey which is essentially 6" after the curve by design, but the 13" (which is 10" after the curve) is the best windshield I've ever had. Total protection, no turbulence, high quality, and to my eye looks great. I'm hoping the 8" Clearview will be my "shorter" windshild for those times I want that shorter look. I have tried 6" shields and below, even had the stock 4" back on for about 5 minutes last weekend, and really don't see how anyone that gets their bike out on the highway can enjoy that. Maybe with a full face helmet, but don't find that much fun either. I should add my 9" and even more so 10" Fast Aires are VERY good windshields for the money and either offer good protection, with the 10" the best of course.

I received my Clearview for my '07 Road Glide Tuesday. I got the medium, and it's about 1" higher overall than the stocker. I'm 6'-3", using the stock seat. It's made a difference in creating a quieter air pocket. Not so much buffetting. I can actually read the license plate of the car in front of me--at 75 mph.

The quality and fit are just fine, better than the stocker. Being thicker, it doesn't vibrate as much. I guess Clearview had my size in stock, I got it 8 days after I ordered it. I'm pretty happy with it so far. It's probably just going to be my "winter" windshield. I'll most likely get one of the 6" wind deflectors next spring. I don't mind having my ears in the breeze, as long as they're in cleaner air than what I was getting with the stock windshield.

I talked to john at clearview and they are very nice and have no problem taking the shield back, he said he would check it to see why fit was bad on one side, and said they could cut me a custom size for 30 more bucks, but that makes this a very expensive item with shipping and all over 200.00. I can tell you if you want a shield that is shorter than stock, the gt small is the same height, the only other size is a 9" any other than that it will be special order. I will probly buy a 12" from C.Baileys, anybody with a ROADGLIDE running this brand?

Agree regarding not minding the ears in the breeze...but it's the battering to the ears that I can't handle. I actually loved riding my Fatboy without the windshield at 70, but with fairings, to me there is more turbulence when you don't have a decent size windshield on your bike. Shorty's just don't work well for me at speed.

It's strange, when I had my Road King Classic, the stock windshield gave me great protection and it was a really calm air pocket behind it. I tried one of those shorty windshields on it, and the buffetting was so bad I took it off after just a few miles.

I had a standard detachable windshield on my next bike, a Dyna Wide Glide, for long trips. The buffetting was tolerable, but a disappointment after my experience on the Road King.

Now with the Road Glide, the stock windshield had me somewhere between the RKC and WG. The Clearview gets me a lot closer to where I was on the Road King.

Come spring, I'll try one of those inexpensive eBay wind deflectors, if I get battered about the ears, as you put it, I'll try to pawn it off on somebody who would rather look cool than be comfortable.

Fast Aires shields fit well and you could get more than one size for that price.Very good guy to deal with along w/fast service.

I love my SG and all touring bikes and wouldn't change a thing, but for what it's worth, when I had my Fatboy with king size windhshield I never even heard of the term buffetting or turbulence when it came to scooters. I've never quite figured it out.
