I had a similar problem on my 06. The quick disconnect on the fuel line where it goes into the tank wasn't fully snapped onto place. Try pushing the collar up and removing the fuel line and clean under the collar with some electrical parts cleaner. Got a bunch of dirt out of mine. Then snap the line back in, it in there and spin the collar around and make sure it is locked fully in.
Does it do nothing, or just not fire? Mine is starting to just do nothing on occasion. I am going to tear into it soon. My wrench told me to undo the starter where the 3 screws hold it on. Pull out the rod and clean off the brushes with emery paper. Could also be the relay under the seat as well.
it sounds like its not getting fuel...and then it sounds like the starter is spinning...and coughs thru the air cleaner. on the second try. it catches...but its random?
