Thanks for posting. Had a look at your other photos as well. I see you got away from the main highway and off into the bay and inlets. You have to do that to really see the island. I spent 21 years there and my wife is from Mt. Pearl. There's no other place in North America like it - geography is probably closer to Ireland and Scotland than the rest of Canada. I'm retired now and my wife retires next year. We're planning on spending a month traveling the "Rock" next summer.
I cant even explain the hospitality of the people there, i though you southerns were the nicest people alive, these people put you to shame lol. Lots of wildlife, moose on every corner it seemed on the west side of the island, a few whales, puffins and some caribou.
I'm glad you enjoyed yourself here!
Incidentally, I was on my way to pick up my bike at the shop today, and picked up a young fella hitchhiking. He was from Germany, and had traveled across the country and felt Newfoundland was by far the easiest place to catch a ride, and that we were the friendliest people he had met. That was nice to hear.
He hadn't seen a moose or a whale, though - you were fortunate indeed.
How did you find the roads for comfort of riding? In many places they're not the best off the Trans Canada Highway, and can be downright dangerous.
I'm gonna check out your pics.
Take care.

i hit a moose last year on my roadstar out in Wyoming, so i was kinda leery when seeing them on the side of the road, but got over that quickly. It was a pleasure to see them in person and not seeing one get put down cause i injured it in a motorcycle crash..
as for roads, there where some sections of roads i thought i was gonna be walking home, but overall i felt they where better then what we have here in Michigan, the tch was under construction in quite a few spots.
i did see lots of hitch hikers there and nova scotia.
