Done with listening to the OL gripe about falling off so I about decided on the tall backrest on a detachable mount on my '11 Road Glide but I have a couple of questions:
1) I can get a 2-point or 4-point mount, right? What is the reason behind a 4-point? Is it for the tour pak? (I don't have one on my FLTRX).
2) I kinda would like a big, ugly sissy bar that I can rig my gear to when the OL isn't humping along. Does anyone make one that EASILY fits the HD detachable mount? (or perhaps they all do? screw me...)

The 2-point is for one detachable unit (e.g., passenger upright).
The 4-point is for two detachable units (e.g., passenger upright and luggage rack).

If you get the 4-point docking kit, you can get the Standard Passenger Upright and a Luggage Rack. This combo allows you to use the passneger seat and luggage rack for toting gear. Your gear can be secured to the luggage rack and/or passenger upright.
There are a few aftermarket uprights, but the ones that I have seen are "big" AND "ugly".
