I have alot of decel pop on my 2010 Road King. Stage 1 with jackpot (catless) headpipe with Rush 2.5 slip-ons. I wanted a louder bike and decel pop doesnt bother me as I live where there are alot of deer. My dealer says it can be tuned out but like I said, I like the noise. My question is, does this in any way hurt or shorten the engine life of the motor? Any body have an opinion?
FWIW,
Had absolutely no decel popping when the Trike was TTS tuned up at Doc's in N. Florida earleir this spring when the air was dry. Now with the high temps in the mid 90's and godawful humidity I've been getting some when downshifting. The past couple of days we've had drier air here in SW Florida and the popping is gone. Gotta believe the engine sucking more water than air had something to do with this. Just another factor to consider.

Pretty interesting observation. Come to think of it, it's been wicked humid and hot in NC as of late, and I noticed a little extra popping also. I was thinking it might be the new crack in my collector. I'm curious now, I need to fix the crack to find out if its just the humidity.
