HELP!!!!!!!! Clutch Cable adjustment

Default HELP!!!!!!!! Clutch Cable adjustment

I am trying to adjust my clutch, the adjuster on the cable will not turn, it is siexed onto the cable, any suggestions on ho to get it to break free?

I tried to pray some lube up in it with no success.

Hit it with some more lube. Try breakfree or PBBlaster. The issue is dissimilar metals, steel and an aluminum or aluminum compound. They oxidize which causes a bond, of sorts.

I would use a penetrating lube, like WD40 and then let it sit overnight. If that didn't work I would try some heat. A heat gun, not a torch. If you overheat the cable it can break inside the sheathing.

A flare nut wrench will help too, better grip on the nuts

Hate to say it, but all that I have worked broke from rust. If you get it free up or if you buy a new one, once adjusted, make sure to put a light of grease over it under the boot. You will thank me the next time you adjust it

Got it off, It took lubing it up and holing the cable with a rag and vice grips (lightly). Its adjusted, and greased it up for the next time.
