I am wondering what people are using the compartments on their UC lowers for. I have seen custom speaker installations that were cool, but not needed for me. I have put my Ktag (turnpike pass) in one of them. I still have almost all of the space left. These compartments are not securable, nor are they watertight. That limits what i would put in them. I think it is wasteful to not utilize them somehow. What are you guys using them for? Thanks,
I keep an extra breath of fresh air in both of mine. Just not a great idea from any standpoint. Cant lock them. Not water tight. Hard to reach. I mean, I guess you could keep something in there that you do not expect to need on a regular basis.
I installed the lower fairing doors from Electraglide Goodies. I put an instant access door latch on the LH side (twist ****) and a lockable door on the RH side. They are sealed frames and gasketed against the door. The fit, texture, and function is a lot better than the leather flaps. They are not cheap at around $250 for the pair. They should be standard from the MOCO.
I put 2 cell phones in mine. Don't use them when riding - but when I stop someplace, they go in my pocket. I agree that it would be nice if they locked.
I store a few small bungie cords and a small net for the luggage rack, a first aid kit in zip lock bags, and two tie down straps in case I need to hitch a ride on a trailer. Am now looking for a small air compressor, and tire plugs, that will fit in them, in case of a flat.
So Kejil how's that Turnpike pass workin out for you in the lowers compartment? I was thinking of putting mine in there, but was not sure if it would register at the toll plaza in there. I didn't want it velcro'd to my windshield.
I keep a garage door opener and chapstick on one side and my night glasses and a cap & dew rags on the other side. Easier than climbing off the bike when dusk starts coming and a cap always comes in handy
Perfect size to keep my packable HD rain suits. Mine on one side and wifes on the other. That way they are always with us.... unless someone gets nosey and steals them...
What the hell is this toll-road thing I keep hearing about?
