I remember all the trouble you had with the mis-marked timing dots on your 255 cams. That would be frustrating as hell, especially once you've redone your work, double checked everything, discovered a manufacturing defect where the timing dot was improperly marked, and it still didn't fix the problem.
I remember that debacle too, and I hold Sickbagger's efforts high on my list of notable diagnostic achievements. OTOH I thought he fixed the problem and the cams proved functionally perfect once he got the timing figured out. I wonder how many more of those problematic cams are floating around out there. They did issue a Tech Tip (TT296) in March 2007, so that being four years ago should make the possibility of getting another one very low. You'd think most were probably caught by HD dealer service techs and we can only hope most or all of those defective cams have been pulled from circulation. OTOH I would certainly check if I bought a used set.
