I have replaced mine 3 times on my 06 ultra cost me 275 each time. If you do replace with aftermarket make sure it is marina grade than you wont have to worry about rain you will also have to buy a controler to make your handbags controls work and from what I see that means cutting into your wireing harnes. But the good news is alpine makes a nice one for around 400
well, there is an alternative now. its an ipod interface that does the same as the boom audio interface, only made by a different company. i've not heard of anyone using it, so this is just fyi......
Well I stopped in to the dealer last week for them to look at it. They did all the resets there little sheet of paper told them to do with no luck. Then there like keep messing with it and get back with us. "Seriously" I was shocked but was out of time to pick up my daughter so I left.
Stopped back in today and they ordered me a new radio that should be in next week.
I have my IPhone and a iPod but prefer using the CD player vs running cords and HD wants to much for the iPod interface.
Figure I can sell the new one and pay for a aftermarket one that has iPod interface.
I sold mine before it broke. I got around $400 for it on ebay. That was enough to pay for an aftermarket with install kit. I have all the controls and it even charges my iPhone. However it does not have a cd tray, but it hides the Iphone or Ipod and I dont have cd's anymore
