Ok, I have changed sides (so to speak)! I just traded the 99 FB for a 06 EG Standard. I am sure I will be the recipient of some good ripping from the softail guys, but the FB just wasn't what I wanted. The whole softail line of bikes are great, but I will have to say this EG is the most comfortable bike I have ever rode! The wife and I should be able to log a few more miles and be abit more comfortable. So far I am very pleased with my purchase and the dealer really went all out to get rid of his last 06 touring bike. To bad winter is setting in here and I will have to wait a few months to really enjoy it. Pray for a mild and short winter.

Acutally you will log a "lot of miles" and be a "lot more comfortable". There is no comparison to the ride and comfort of a Fat Boy (a great bike in it's own rite) vs. a Bagger. I don't know if the Electra Glide Standard comes with Cruise Control but if not, get it and use it .. you won't be sorry. It will save you on those "more comfortable long rides" .. have fun with your new ride and be safe!!
I have the same exact bike in that color. I added the quick detach tourpak backrest and the drivers backrest also. I get more compliments on that color than any other bike I've owned. Check with your dealer on the ignition switch recall where they replace it before you put it away for the winter. I took mine out in the process of adjusting the handlebars (pain in the a$$) and it wouldn't go back in. Too long of a story to rehash, they had to pick the bike up and take it down to the shop to replace it. Do yourself a favor and set it up with them so you can just drive it down there and they can do it real quick. Other than that, we've enjoyed this better than all the others we've owned. Have fun.
