Just checked my receipts:
Rear tires #1, #2, and #3 got 8,000 miles each before replacement. Rear tire #4: 5,000 and it's pretty much done. I'm very careful with the pressure, keeping it at 40PSI. Front tire replaced at 24,400.

I think the rough texture and heat in S. FL really takes it toll. I wear jeans and a mesh jacket no matter how hot, because I don't even want to imagine what all that crush shell is going do Cheers, Kevin.

28 in the front is pretty low. 36 is recommended.

As others here said, I had 11,000 on my rear 402 when I replaced it, and it could have went another 2-3k miles. But the local HD store runs 20% off in April, so I went for the new tires

Recevied my new Metezler 880 tires yesterday, will mount this weekend and post my particular results. As mention many times, air pressure is important and the 880s run high:

ME880
Front: 38-40 (Solo) 40-42 (2 Up Light) 40-42 (2 Up Heavy)
Rear: 44-46 (Solo) 46-48 (2 Up Light) 48-50 (2 Up Heavy)

Good News is I have a compressor in the garage, so I should check/fill once per week. Cheers, Kevin.

p.s. Just got my local dealer to drop & change w/stems & disposal for $85; they seem to deal pretty quickly on service rates.
