I have had a set of Rinehart mufflers for less than two years and the chrome has already started peeling off of the end caps. The baffles on the inside are just as junky. They rattle around inside the outside body like a can full of rocks.
I would advise anyone in the market for exhaust products to stay away from Rinehart. Just sayin
I just installed a 2-1 Rinehart on a guys 07 UC and I thought the quality looked great, at least compared to my Thunderheader. Of course my Thunderheader sounds much better IMO.
The newer Rinehart stuff is made by Clearline, the older Rineharts were made by BUB. I've not had any real contact with the Clearline manufactured Rineharts. I have a BUB/Rinehart true dual system on my bike, and the endcaps turned a kind of a brassy color, and the chrome on the muffler body is thin, and you can see some underlying waviness. I've had Supertrapp, Vance and Hines, Samson and Screamin Eagle exhaust products, and all of them had better chrome than the Rineharts.
However, I'm happy with the sound and performance of the Rineharts, so they're staying on the bike.
I will contact them tomorrow and see if they will stand behind their product. For what I paid for them, the end caps should be solid stainless steel but they are pot metal with a cheap chrome finish.
