Default I can't find my VIN # !?!?

Hi,
I have a 2001 FLHTCUI and I cant see a VIN # on the neck, downtubes, or any other place visible (fairing removed). I have heard sometimes the powder coating fills in the numbers and you have to file it down, but I don't know where to file... Anyone with a bagger frame have a picture of where their VIN # is located on the frame?

Thanks,
Jim

Thanks for the responses and picture, but unfortunately I dont have the sticker there. I inspected the front downtube near the rear brake master cylinder with a flashlight and there is no sign of any numbers or even dimples in the powder coating to give the location away.

Anyone have a pic of the number by the brake cylinder or a quick measurement so I know where to start filing?

Thanks
Jim

Did you buy this bike new? If not you might have a replacement frame. But a Harley replacement frame exchanged out with an original one will still have the same VIN # stamped on it. on it.

Not knowing the history of your ride,,,do you have the title,,did you just buy it from an individual that you dont know? you could take it to the secretary of state office and have an investigator find it,,,,problem is,,if the VIN is ground off..they will probably confiscate your scoot...

You will find the VIN right behind the neck on the right side of the frame...If you will notice there are 2 large conduits which is part of the main wiring harness...You will find the VIN behind those harnesses.

On an 01 FLHTCUI it should be on the right downtube by the rear master cylinder, just above the footboard. If it's not there, someone changed the frame and it's probably after market or has been repaired. The newer Ultras have them on the steering head but the 01's should be on the downtube.
