Lots of complaints on the pre-09 backrests from HD. Mostly that they push you forward.
That's why I bought a Mustang.
no complaint here on the HD backrest for my 03 RKC. I think the trick is to adjust it to where you want to sit. even though I have the "non'adjustable" one, it has an almost unlimited range of settings.
but, hey, use whatever reasoning you need to get what you want. right? it's your ride, make it fit you.

I don't know who is complaining. I have an HD adjustable on my 08 SG and it is without a doubt, the best aftermarket purchase I've made so far. I love it!

What aviator said............here's my '03 with mine
I have the HD non adjustable, it did push me forward at first. I pulled the seat and moved the mounting bracket back from where the dealer installed it. There are several holes to choose from. All is well now.
I have an adjustable that I ordered with my C&C seat and I would love to say that I never ride without it. When the wife and I ride two up it has reduced the room that she has that it is uncomfortable for her so I am going to have to buy a tour pack relocation kit to make things more enjoyable for both. As we all know keeping the wife happy is just as important as our comfort.
I have one and wouldn't ride without it,keep in mind the adjustable will not adjust up and down.If you go to a lower seat it will ride higher on your back.My only complaint with it otherwise it's great.
