Default Clutch

Finally got time to finish my bar install, started and check all buttons, works great. Put new clutch cable on, here is the problem, with clutch in, put in 1st gear and bike started going, while holding the clutch in. I have the manual but with the storms we had, my garage leaked and my book got a little wet. Pages are still stuck together. Might it be the adjustment or do I have to take the cover back off and check inside?

I would suggest adjusting it. Mine was doing a similar thing and adjusting helped. My bike is older, a 1996, but my manual said you had to adjust both the cable and in the primary access cover. It wasn't that hard to do, make sure you find out the steps to take. Mine took about 15 mins, loosened the cable fully, loosened the lock nut, loosened the adjusting screw, then went back in with the tighteneing screw until I met resistance, backed it out a half turn, locked it down then adjusted the cable. It got rid of the "tugging" when stopped.

Thks, hop it works. I did not want to take the cover off again. Guess I might have to.
