Default looking for apes

im riding a 2011 street glide w/ ABS, cruise and fly by wire throttle. i have searched for day on here while working haha but i see all the diff set ups and still lost as last years easter egg on this. some say they have 12's but they look 2'' taller than the next bike w/ 14's. i want my grips to sit 3-4'' above the faring and keep them pushed closer to the front of bike than stock. im 6'3'' and really long arms so i need to get stretched out. one thing i have to watch is i have clock works 4'' flare windshield and most bars i see will hit it before the top bend, but i saw a bike in person that had same windshied and bars setup i want (very comfortable) but they guy had juast bought it that way and no clue about them. can anybody help me out herer? or lead me in the right direction? im figuring ill need all new wiring, cables and brake line when i do it so is ther a good place to buy cimplete kit? i want chrome bars

12" PYO Monkey bars are about 3" above the fairing when you push them forward. If you go HCC I would go 14-16" to get the same height. You'll still be able to use your mirrors. If you like the look of the Yaffes you may want to check out LA Choppers Prime Apes. They look similar and as a guy said in another thread they're not made of unobtainium. You will typically wait a while for the Yaffes. Also go to a couple of bike nights and check them out. They are common enough that you will usually see at least 2 or 3 baggers with apes. Talk to the owner, most will let you sit on the bike and see how they feel.

SG i like the height of your bars, do you have a pic of them from the back? from what im reading i dont think the spread is wide enough for me. i talked to fat baggers and they have a set up that has 15.75'' spread, 8.5 pullback 37 overall width. i think they will clear my windshield but have to measure tonight to make sure but they are 16'' rise i dont think i want bars that tall

I love my Wild1 577s. +6 on the clutch and brake and the wires will reach if you reroute the fairing side of the harness.

Hill Country Customs in Texas has complete kits. I went with the 16" they are well above the fairing, but level with my shoulders (I'm 5'10"). Their kits are complete with wire extensions, cables and hoses and well thought out. They offer several sizes/ widths. If you call them, they will usually work out a free shipping deal with you. Good luck, hope you like them as much as I do.
