Thanks for the responses. I realize shifting in too low of a gear has consequences in the loss of traction on the rear tire, especially on wet pavement. What I was getting at was what, if any, are the potential wear problems associated when using the engine/transmission to slow your bike. Seems that most all of you, have never seen any problems.
