Hi,
I need to change my rear tire. The HD dealer for the same tire is 40% higher than a specialized motorbike tire-dealer. With my old bike I never had problems (not an HD), but I wonder if HDs (FLHR) need special attention when changing the tire.
Thanks
MP
If the bike shop has a proper tire changer & balancer, then it shouldnt be an issue for them. Ask them if they can do the rear HD tire, get a tire price for M&B on & off the bike & go from there.
I gave up changing my own tyres when tubeless became popular. That coincided with tyres getting bigger and stiffer, hence more difficult to work with, but also any minor damage to the bead from clumsy work can wreck a tubeless tyre. I would take your wheel off and get tyres fitted by a local supplier. I use my nearest shop, a Yamaha dealer, to supply and fit! They build and race track bikes, so know what they are doing.
