screaming eagle slip ons
Greetings fellow forum members, I recently purchased a 2011 streetglide here is where I could use some input. My plans for performance are pipes, tuner and air flow and eventually a cam. I have the air flow figured out and plan on using the cobra power pro with auto tune. Now, I like the screaming eagle fat shot as well as night sticks (both slip ons), are they both like the supertrapps with one having the open end and the other the closed end? I do plan on replacing the header pipe with the powerflex from american customs. Are these slip ons tunable like the supertrapps? Would the combinations I am looking at perform and sound well or should I look in another direction? Thanks for any and all input.
those slip ons are made by supertrapp. ( and sometimes show up cheap on the classifieds here)
supertrapp says they are "different", made to H-D's specs.
the fatshots open end pipes are spec'd for 2010 and up...which happen to be the "year of the Cat".
so assume that the cat causes so much restriction, a near open muffler is compliant.
so think about cat removal, or replacing header pipes ( make sure o2 sensor bungs are correct).
I use the supertrapp supermegs with stock no cat header ( 09 bike).
I like them, I had them on my 1995 for 10 years and moved them onto the new bike, retuning for the 96" motor. ( 18 right, 12 left--)
with a tunable pipe, when you do your cams as planned, you can retune the pipe.
I retune for local ( torque) or touring ( HP), takes minutes once you have it figured out.
air cleaner I suggest the Ness big sucker with the chrome backing plate ( easy wipe off on wash day) nice tidy install, washable oiled K&N type filter media. $115 shipped on ebay from easternpc
