I'm going to take a slightly different approach. It seems to me that they stepped up and did the right thing. Sure, it took a bit of pressure, but they saw the light and gave Ben ALL his money back.
They made a mistake, admitted it, and now they're trying to move on. I've got no problem with that.

Glad you got your money back. I still wouldn't give Carlton HD the time of day though. They are the ones who made this so difficult because of their OWN mistake.

Glad they resolved it to your satisfaction. I was searching the forum to see if there was an update on your original post, but that post is locked down tight. Personally, locking the thread to future posts is good, but it should be readable so that those doing research for a future purchase can see who they are potentially dealing with. Just my 2 cents.
